“So long to the worst year of our lives...Happy New Year!"
In 2015, Central New Jersey singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Joshua Van Ness, wrote a song about reaching the end of a tough time and looking forward to putting a bad year in the rear view mirror. That song is "Happy New Year", and was released on Joshua's EP, "Wild" in 2017, but one listen and you'll agree, this is a song perfect for 2020!
This December, Joshua is re- releasing the song, for the first time as a single. The Track, originally produced by Brian Ostering of the award winning indie band, The Wag (Joshua plays drums in the group), has been remixed and mastered by Emmy award winning engineer, Matt Riffino. To celebrate the re-release, a crowd sourced video will accompany the song, showing Joshua's fans and friends celebrating "2020 style"...socially distant or quarantined. A video for the song will premier during a live stream on the Telegraph Hill Facebook page on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:00 PM EST and on youtube following the event. “Happy New Year 2020 Remix” will also be available for download and streaming on all major platforms. .
"It hit me a couple of months ago." Van Ness explained. "We've all been going through so much this year. The Pandemic, a stressful elections season, racial tensions across the nation, and so many of just want to be with our families, and we can't. This song is is what we are all going through in some way or another right now.. Better times are coming, we just have to hold on"
